The Anthropomorphic Cabinet (after Dalí)

Title: The Anthropomorphic Cabinet (after Dalí)
After: Salvador Dalí, The Anthropomorphic Cabinet (1936)
Medium: Oil on panel
Year: 2019
Status: Sold, private collection

A recreation of Salvador Dalí’s The Anthropomorphic Cabinet (1936), painted in 2019 during my A-levels. It’s one of my favourite examples of Dalí’s paranoiac-critical method, a figure that is also a chest of drawers. I was reminded of it recently when I saw a related Dalí sketch in the V&A’s Schiaparelli exhibition. Sold to a friend.
